About RiderLog
Bike advocacy in your pocket.

RiderLog is a free app from Bicycle Network where every bike ride counts towards better bicycle infrastructure.

Get healthy and help improve riding condition at the same time.

RiderLog replaces your bike computer allowing you to monitor speed, distance, altitude and how much time you spend on your bike. Use it to prepare for a bike ride, find out how far it is to work by bike or to ensure you are getting enough physical activity to remain healthy.

You can set goals for the number of rides; time spend riding; altitude climbed; or distance ridden per week or month. Or set them at the minimum recommended Physical Activity Guidelines. Green lights show when you have hit your goals.

The Dashboard collects your ride data by day, week and month sorting it by total, average and high points.

The real power of RiderLog is that it turns every ride you make into a vote for better riding conditions. The details of your trips are uploaded to Bicycle Network where we can analyse the data and report on when, where and why people are riding. Bicycle Network is a health promotion charity who aims to make bike riding easy for everyone. Find out more at www.bicyclenetwork.com.au

Ride History in the dashboard keeps all your rides. You can check data from each ride and see the route on a map. It is easy to share your ride details on social media, email or SMS.

The information sent to Bicycle Network is used to improve the planning of bike infrastructure and to convince authorities to invest more in the locations where people ride. See the full story at www.riderlog.com.au.

Privacy
You decide how much information about you and your riding gets uploaded. The app default is to upload data so it can be used to improve riding conditions. Unless you change the settings on your device (i.e. no upload of data under Settings), personal details that you have provided in you profile will be transmitted (such as age, home postcode and other) to Bicycle Network.

How we collect information, the type of information collected and the use of that information is explained in Bicycle Networks Privacy statement - https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/general/about-us/1017/

Easy to use
RiderLog is about participation and contribution, not competition.

RiderLog is easy to use.
When first opening youll be asked to input some basic details and you can also chose a ride avatar or personality.

To record a ride: open the app, under new ride select your ride type, press start to begin recording, lock your screen and put your phone in your pocket or bag; at the end of the ride wake up your phone and save your ride. Dont worry if you forget as the pocket mode will save the ride after a period of inactivity (the default is 5 mins but you can change it under Settings).

You can buy a phone mount for your bike handlebars that will allow you to watch the display as you ride.

Incident report

A new feature of this release, the Incident Report feature allows you to capture things such as dangerous path conditions or the details around a bike crash or near miss, and submit these to Bicycle Network to follow up. These reports are an additional tool for us to help improve riding conditions. Please remember this is not an alternative to emergency services.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
